Thomas Uylenbroek – Head Coach

Thomas Uylenbroek is a 2nd degree Black Belt under Kevin Lewis from GFTeam. He started training in 2006 and has earned his blue through black belts from Ground Zero Huntington in West Virginia. Thomas then travelled to Colorado and started Ground Zero Roaring Fork Valley where he has been teaching since October 2019. He also has been teaching at the police academy at CMC, providing the teachings of Brazilian Jiujitsu to the local law enforcement.

Thomas has a degree and experience in teaching high school, which he puts to use daily in teaching his class. While the structure remains familiar, new types of drill are tested and tried.

He has competed and won in Brazilian Jiujitsu, boxing, kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts competitions. He has trained and competed internationally in his homeland of the Netherlands, representing Team Leijdekker and Vos Gym.

He is most happy teaching Jiujitsu technique and philosophy to anyone interested in learning and being a modern day martial artist both on and of the mats.
